Work 'VI Degrees' By Playwright Kash Goins Raises HIV/AIDS Awareness Among
African American Community
The play also pays special attention to the consequences of unprotected sex and the responsibility that comes with that decision. "As adults, when we examine our reckless lifestyles, we have to be aware of our decisions," says Kash. The 2009 Downtown Urban Theater Festival in New York City awarded VI Degrees with "Best Play." GoKash Productions hopes that this play sparks awareness and encourages more to get tested, as well as slim some of the discriminations against the disease. "African Americans don't get tested and don't get treated," states Kash. The premiere of this
touching and dramatic production will be Monday July 27, through
Sunday August 2, 2009 at the Adriene Theatre 2030 Samson Street in Philadelphia,
PA, nightly at 7:30 pm with 3:00pm matinees on the weekends. For press
