I have had the pleasure of attending 4 “Kindred Presents” shows last season. Many who knew I attended the show would ask me to describe my experience. They enjoyed my social media post so much that they had to purchase a ticket. So for those still curious, here is my best explanation.
Great memories often stem from phenomenal times with your family and friends. The most memorable moments are when we are gathered around the table, or at a family cookout laughing so hard you can hardly catch your breath. Folks sitting so close together elbow to elbow you could hardly move. Somehow, it’s okay. You know it is all in the name of love, because they are your family, so there is no space invaded. You can always hear the best stories, when family is sharing all the good details behind a few rumors, shady moments or they are just pouring history into you about their journey in this thing called life.
One thing is for sure, when it comes to family events, there is always good music playing! Many of us just sing along or just get up dancing and snap our fingers like we wrote the lyrics ourselves. Let’s not forget the food, Lord have mercy! You can’t have a soulful family gathering without amazing food and drinks. It never fails, when you are in the middle of this good ole time there will always be a loved one who calls you very upset because they just couldn’t make it. So you usually take a few pictures and post them on social media or text them the fun just to rub it in a little bit. Meanwhile, the other family member’s streams live so they don’t feel left out.
Usually, when it’s an awesome family or friends gatherings, you always end the night with that one person that screams out, “Hold up, we have to take some pictures!” People all over the place taking pictures over here and small talk over there. So much love in the room you can’t stand it!
After a full belly, great music, and everyone chiming in that the drinks were on point! The night is officially over. Pictures are taken, hugs are given, and food and drinks are gone for the evening. Usually, around this time the last few people are standing around still laughing, a few family members are cleaning up, and that is when you hear that one Uncle or Auntie say “okay family, let’s wrap it up and we’ll see you soon, Thanks for coming yall Good Night!” This is that moment you realize you have had such an unbelievable time with your loved ones and you absolutely can’t wait to do this all over again, but next time you will bring your friend.
For those who have shared in a fantastic evening and delicious food at Warmdaddy’s in Philadelphia for “Kindred Presents,” I am certain you will agree with the description of the evening and will echo that “Hands down the best show ever!”
This unbelievable show is hosted and created by the most loving, humble and talented artists ever, Fatin and Aja of Kindred The Family Soul. This series is so authentic, organic and absolutely needed for the community, the fans of real soulful music, and the beloved City of Philadelphia. So refreshing to share the love with grown, sexy and old school music, unforgettable celebrity interviews, hilarious conversation, perfect drinks and good food. Their vision is an intimate family affair that simply brings back the good old times when growing up. Their vision is nothing but positive vibes and fantastic feelings of peace and happiness. Most of all they have created an atmosphere of a real family friend that show up every Monday. This showcase simply reminds you of the simpler times where family and friends truly mattered. The days where soulful music and the old school hip hop of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s lingered in the background and will always be etched in our memory.
