“Schooled” gives the insider’s story of America’s public schools, through the eyes of students, parents and educators. We begin with Savannah Zayas, a teen mother in a struggling high school who’s determined to escape poverty by earning her diploma. Season 1 is based on more than a year of interviews with Savannah, who’s fought to overcome horrific abuse, and avoid the problems of the world around her — a drug-infused area of Philadelphia known as “the badlands.” Her goal: to graduate high school. New Season of Hit Podcast: The Radio Adventures of Eleanor Amplified

Looking for a children’s role model who fights injustice with brain power? Buckle those seatbelts because WHYY podcast The Radio Adventures of Eleanor Amplifiedkicks off its second season on August 30th. This series created for kids ages 8-12 will spark the imagination while entertaining the entire family.  Young kids will be inspired as they listen to this series that tells the story of the “world famous reporter and adventurer” and her nemeses.  Listeners can join the hero, Eleanor Amplified, as she foils dastardly plots, outwits crafty villains and goes after “The Big Story.” Eleanor’s pursuit of truth takes her into orbit, out to sea, through a scary jungle and even to the halls of Congress! WHYY Launches 24/7 Kids Channel: WHYY PBS Kids

WHYY recently launched its 24/7 WHYY PBS KIDS channel. WHYY PBS KIDS is also available as a live stream. This free service, which features round the clock educational yet fun programming, ensures that high-quality offerings are available to all children and caregivers on a platform and at a time that works for them, including primetime, weekends and other out-of-school times when they are most likely to tune in.  WHYY PBS KIDS will air on 12.3 replacing The World programming. The World viewers can catch many of their favorites on Passport, Y2 and the new WHYY-TV You block from noon to 3 p.m. which will feature lifestyle shows geared toward those who enjoy WHYY’s award-winning arts & culture programming, dramas, documentaries and investigative journalism.
